1. OVERVIEW
   This driver disk adds support for the SiI SATA controller. This driver
   overrides the Open Source Driver

   Supported Versions:

      * RedHat RHEL 3.0 update 2
        NOTE: update 1 needs to limit memory to 4GB
              boot with mem=4095M

2. CREATE FLOPPY

   dd if=sii6514.img of=/dev/fd0  (In a Linux System) 
      See Full Install if you want to use WINDOWS to create
          the floppy
      
   => Configure RAID SET using the BIOS if you want RAID functionality
   *  Make sure BIOS reports drives as 'current' (if using RAID)

3. INSTALL SOFTWARE

INSTALL AS  BOOT Drive

   . Insert Bootable CDROM

   . At boot prompt type 'linux dd'


   . Insert Floppy Containing the Driver and follow the installation instructions.


INSTALL AS DATA Drive

   This  for user who already has the Linux boot drive and only want use Silicon Image
   controller as DATA drive.
   
   . Install the controller and drive.

   . Boot the Linux.

   . Create a temp directory.  " mkdir /f "
   
   . Mount Floppy to /f. " mount /dev/fd0 /f "

   . Install the controller driver. " cd /f ; ./upgrade_driver.sh "

   . Reboot the system.
   	        
   
4. GENERAL INFO

   . If you cat /proc/scsi/SiI6514/* you should see the Driver as reported by
     the kernel

   . If you cat /proc/scsi/scsi you should see the your RAID TYPE as reported
     by the kernel
